Progression for Camier on Day 2

Leon Camier on the Aprilia RSV4 secured 16th place on the grid for tomorrow’s two World Superbike races at Magny Cours. Camier got through to the second stage of the Superpole qualifying session but was unable to better his time and ended the session in 16th place. Camier who made his first debut on the Aprilia and debut at the Magny Cours yesterday afternoon has had to quickly get to grips with the new set up of the team, bike and circuit.

Camier has rapidly progressed over the two day sessions taking a staggering two seconds off his original time during first practice to his best time in the first Superpole session. The youngster has been adapting well to the technical Magny Cours circuit and has found a good set up to suit his tall 6’2” frame on the petite RSV4 Aprilia.

Although on the fourth row the 23-year-old from Kent is extremely looking forward to the two races tomorrow saying “The last two days have definitely been a big learning curve and the RSV4 is an awesome bike but totally different to anything else I have ever ridden. It’s great to ride but it’s just getting everything right and also trying to learn the track too. It’s been a big challenge but a great opportunity and I’m grateful to the Aprilia team for this chance. Even up to Superpole I still had to make a few changes to suit my riding style and I’ll be starting from row four tomorrow but I’m ready for it. I can’t wait to get stuck into racing conditions and have a bit of a battle and see what results I can come away with. I’m putting no pressure on myself and neither are the team but I want to get a couple of good results to show I can do it!”
